The Map of Africa’s “Emergence”
Since the beginning of the 21st century, mostly all African countries have implemented long-term development planning. To a certain extent, this social engineering echoes the development practices of a majority of African states between the 1960’s and the 1970’s. These current development plans aim to attain a new and common objective: the “emergence”. The figure below shows, for the first time, the different deadlines fixed by African States themselves to achieve their “emergence”.
